Busy busy busy

We've been busy, inside and out! It seems as much as I've been busy with life - work, house cleaning, hanging out with friends and family - Paul has been busy himself! It seems like he's been kicking and swirling around a lot more, plus sort of responding to touch. :) I suppose I can't be sure, but it's fun to think so! We're all looking forward to seeing everyone for Christmas and having a grand ol' time.

These days...

So... lately, life has been fun. I find myself falling more in love with the wonderful man I married and discovering what a joy it is already to be a mom-to-be! :) It's been very exciting to share with others the kicks and punches Paulie dishes out. It's really amazing what a baby belly will do to people. They just want to touch, touch, touch!!! I like it alright, it's nice being able to give that.
So overall, things have been going well and we're doing well!
Thanks everyone for reading! Sorry I haven't had any recent pictures posted yet. Soon!

Thanksgiving

His first thanksgiving was a tough one. The long car ride tired mommy out. We took lots of naps, but the little while he decided to be awake and moving, auntie Julie got to feel him kick a little! And Daddy was able to feel him yesterday, bouncing around a lot for only a moment, which was also a nice birthday present to daddy. Otherwise he was pertty quiet the whole time, except early in the morning when mom was still trying to sleep. The food was amazing and since they say that he's old enough to start tasting food, I'm sure he loved every bite I took too. :)
The belly is getting bigger, and I should have shower pictures up soon, as well as a picture of me and my growing belly once a week to really document how fast he's growing!
Thanks everyone!

Sonogram Pictures

Many of you have most likely seen these pictures, but for those of you who haven't, I'm glad you are now! These were taken October 28th, 2009, he was about 20 weeks old and weighed about 13 ounces. It was very exciting being able to see him and find out that we are having a son! We soon found out that he is camera shy as well. The ultrasound tech was able to tell us that everything about him looked great! She was 90% sure, right off the bat, that our baby was a boy... until he decided to turn just right and then we were all 100% sure. :) It didn't take her long to check everything, but we still didn't leave until nearly an hour later. She was very determined to get a good profile pic of his face for us, but he just wasn't having it! I had started out on my back, so she suggested I lay on my side. First the left, then the right, then I even stood! And he still wouldn't give us a good shot! So, a little walk to the bathroom was the trick! He finally came around and that is was you see here!

It was amazing to see him move, his heart beat and just to see something resembling a baby aside from the little belly I had. And so after all the hard work he did, he showed us a big yawn and then stuck his thumb in his mouth!
It was all very precious.
Today he is about 23 weeks old and according to the books, he should weigh about a pound, if not a little more. Every day I can feel him kicking more and more. Some of us joke that he's the ninja baby, and others have joked that he's the next Chuck Norris! Ah!
Either way, it's been very comforting to know that he's alive and well, and strong!

This is for you!

This is for you my family! Since many of us live at least an hour to many many hours away, I decided that I would create a blog to keep you all updated on the things going on here in Menomonie, the growth and potential adventures with little Paul Aaron. :) If I can manage to get a hold of a good video camera, I hope to take videos and post them here on this site.
Granted, this is more specifically for the grandparents! But, you all are welcome, ofcourse!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and we miss you all!
With love and thanks,
Jerry and Rachael
